As a young lawyer at the beginning of my career, my goal was to achieve “attorney nirvana” which was to become the youngest partner at a prestigious law firm on Connecticut Avenue in our Nation’s Capital. Well, I did that but found I was not particularly fulfilled or happy. This was no criticism of my older partners who were incredibly supportive and mentored me. I just wanted more. For starters, I wanted to 'plant my own potatoes' and felt I had a better way to do it. My dream was to bring the collegial experience of a general counsel’s office in government to the private sector with all of the attendant care, client interaction, and yes - fun. Since 1996 I have been on an exciting entrepreneurial quest to create a more business-centered and passionate law firm (which sounds like an oxymoron!). At MosterWynne, we call it our “General Counsel Program.” I dropped out of school at sixteen and started my first business called "Impressions at a Glance" designing custom business cards and logos. I got my GED, got a scholarship and graduated from Cal Davis, and went to one of the top law schools to "love people in a powerful way." It's no wonder I attended UC Berkely Law! After working in D.C. for the US Department of Labor and two international law firms, Charlie and I decided to start our own law firm dedicated to being of service to our firm, clients and community. Through our 12+ years in business we have become experienced business evangelists helping people achieve their dreams through the intelligent and practical application of law and business. I have worked for two large law firms, representing both
large and small clients, and two large public companies with over $7 billion in
revenues. Along the way, I did
concurrent work for a small “incubator” subsidiary of a large company and was
the general counsel of a smaller subsidiary of one of the large companies. I’ve
realized that the legal issues for the smaller companies can be just as complex
and interesting. I enjoy representing the smaller and medium-Charles Moster

sized clients and
employers who are entrepreneurial as much as I enjoy working with large
companies. Added to that, I am now a small business owner myself and that has
been an eye-opening experience that gives me a better perspective on my clients’
issues and goals.
